Status Update

I finally sent in my updated resume and my aspiration statement – collectively four pages in length!

I also finally sent out my passport information after a huge and arduous to-do concerning my birth certificate. Hopefully there will be enough time to process my passport. The processing officers need four weeks to process, so hopefully that will go well.

I also received a recommended packing list. I also found a good packing list online from a woman who is serving there right now. There is quite a bit to pack, and it all has to amount to under 80 pounds, and needs to fit into three bags – 2 to be checked, and one carry on. I probably won’t pack for another couple of weeks, as now I need to figure out what to do with all of my belongings.

Anyway, here is a link to a wealth of information about Burkina Faso for everyone. It is a landlocked country in Northwestern Africa. For my first three months of training, I will be stationed in Ouagadougou, the capital city. Click here for more information.
